The Floor Sanding Process
We follow a meticulous procedure to ensure the best quality result for your floor, whether it is hardwood timber, cork flooring, parquet flooring, particle board, plywood, or one of other specialities (contact us for a full list).
Belt sanding the floor is required to remove old coatings. New flooring also may require belt sanding to get the floor level.
Edging the floor is sanding the existing coating off the edges from places that the larger belt sanding machine cannot reach.
The finishing machine takes up where the first two leave off. It ensures there are no belt sanding or edging marks left on your floor.
Vacuuming between each process removes dust particles from the air and floor, thereby reducing dust in the finished coating.
The care and attention that we put into sanding and cleaning up your floor are necessary prerequisites for the protection and coating that are the next steps.
We offer a variety of coating options to give your floor that extra something to best compliment the look and feel you are after for your home. We provide a range of samples that can be used to help with the selection process so that the colour and texture matching is perfect right from the start.
Each of our three major applications has its own distinctive advantages depending on where it is to be applied and how much wear it will get. The presence of pets or children in high traffic areas, for instance, will demand a different finish to that applied to less well used spaces. We will consult with you on which finish best balances your personal preference with the practical need.

We were thrilled with the very professional job in our older style home. Everyone compliments the floors when they come in. This was our third time having our floors sanded and Dave managed to get it perfect and just the way we had envisaged. Many thanks Dave, A+.
A fast, professional job.

We used Dave’s services to sand our wooden floor boards. He was friendly, flexible and nothing was too big a job. He was also a perfectionist. He was able to make the old matai and new rimu work well together. We have so many compliments about our floors. Thank you Dave! I would highly recommend him!

Dave of Super City Floor Sanders has recently sanded and polyurethaned the newly laid Rimu flooring in our 120 year old villa. He has done an excellent job and we are delighted with the result. The beautiful grain of the timber has been bought out magnificently. Dave is great to deal with, is co-operative with scheduling (not easy on a building project), is a very tidy operator and is responsible and trustworthy with locking up /opening up the house as we were staying offsite. We are more than happy to recommend him to anyone doing similar work.
We wish Dave and his business every success in the future.

Living south of the bridge we did not quite know what to expect when a couple of supercity floor sanders from Red Beach turned up on our doorstep at 7.15am one morning! We need not have worried because this father and son combo worked like demons and had the job finished in no time. The Rimu floors look fantastic and should be a big plus factor when we come to sell.
The price we thought was very reasonable and the service ( given with a smile) was brilliant.
We will certainly book them again if the need arises.
Hi Dave, Just want to say thanks for making our mucked up floor look so beautiful; if you told me beforehand how great it will look I wouldn’t believe you. I just cannot take my eyes of that natural looking wood. Just cannot wait to get the rest of house done. I would recommend you not only for the great work you have done but also for the wonderful person you are. Thank you again, hope to see you soon.
